About Spectracef
SPECTRACEF is an effective antibiotic therapy for patients.
- Provides convenience and promotes compliance
- Treatment against sensitive bacteria
- Delivers the effective empiric therapy of a third-generation cephalosporin
What is SPECTRACEF?
SPECTRACEF tablets are indicated to treat mild to moderate bacterial infections in patients 12 years of age or older. It works by stopping the growth of sensitive bacteria and tablets contain Cefditoren Pivoxil, a semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic for oral administration. It is a prodrug, which is hydrolyzed by esterases during absorption, and the medicine is distributed in the circulating blood as active cefditoren.
What does SPECTRACEF treat?
SPECTRACEF is a highly effective treatment for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), a proven treatment for acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (ABECB) and a dependable therapy for streptococcal pharyngitis.
SPECTRACEF treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.
